Thanks for the happiness, King Kanai.Blizzard announced not long ago of providing an update to Diablo Immortal every two weeks, and the company delivered on that promise. But that’s okay–it’s a silly easter egg that will surely bring a smile to the face of anyone who knows of the cow level, and those who are discovering it for the first time. Unfortunately there are no special items or bosses, just lots and lots of cows. Once there, in a scene of “udder cowlamnity”, you’ll be instructed to slaughter all the infernal bovines. Kanai’s Soul awaits players who travel to the Immortal Throne in the Ruins of Sescheron in Act III, and will open a portal to Kanai’s Stomping Grounds: The event runs through March, which is his birth month. The level is a reference to Blizzard developer Kevin Kanai Griffith, who passed away in October 2014 from cancer. Now, players have found another Secret Cow Level in Diablo III–but this one is special.Īccording to Kotaku, a portal to Kanai’s Stomping Grounds, a level full of cows, will be available through the month of March only. It has since been nerfed, and the Cow Level has become an in-joke since, including Blizzard’s fierce denial of a Cow Level’s existence. The infamous Secret Cow Level has been known and loved by Diablo fans since Diablo II–it consisted of a special portal taking the player to an area full of Hell Bovines–cows with pole arms–that (at one point) offered high levels of experience and good items. By Rebekah Valentine 7 years ago The Cow Level reappears, this time in Diablo III, as a loving, laughing tribute to a developer.
